Easy and quick way to get rid of dust on lampshades is to run a lint roller on the inner and outside of the shade surfaces.  Also by using a hairdryer to blow dust will help to get rid of any dust within the seams.

Every few weeks it's importnant to clean out the whole box including the liner and give it a good wash. DO NOT use bleach for this chore as it can react with the ammonia and create evil fumes. Lemon juice or plain old vinegar will disolve any ammonia spills or stains in the plastic box.
